PUPIL BEHAVIOUR
The registration teacher is concerned not only for the education progress but also for the personal and social development of your child. We aim to combine high expectations with a sympathetic approach. Sometimes, however, problems do arise and we involve parents at an early stage rather than leave it until too late. We hope you, as parents, will do the same with us. A new baby in the family, a sudden death or some upset at home can cause your child to behave differently at school, just as worry over school work or falling out with a friend can cause you problems at home.
SCHOOL RULES
Our school is focussed solely on the health and safety of the children who attend Greenway. We expect that every child should care for, respect and be sensitive to:
- Every other child
- Adults
- Property and equipment
- The environment
The school promotes 'Always do your best' as its only school rule.
ATTENDANCE
Parents are asked to explain children’s absences from school. A separate absence line operates out of school hours. If parents need to take any vacation during term time then they are asked to confirm
this in writing with the school office.
CHILDMINDING/HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES
A childminding service is available after school until 6.00pm every evening. The school always operates a holiday activities scheme throughout the year. Further details are available from the school office.
LUNCHES
Excellent lunches are cooked on the premises by our own catering staff. They provide a choice of hot main course and desert, a salad bar and a drink at affordable prices. Children can purchase fruit, milk or orange juice from the school kitchen at their morning break.
SCHOOL VISITS AND CHARGES
All year groups have a programme of educational visits to support their curriculum studies. These trips are funded by asking the parents to make a voluntary contribution. Sensitive provision is made for those on income support or whom may experience difficulty in making the voluntary contribution needed.
EMERGENCY CLOSURE
Sometimes an occasion arises when the school has to close either completely or in part. This may be due to heavy snow, flood, fire or other emergency outside our control. Wherever possible warning is given either directly or through the local media. In any event children will never be
sent home without the knowledge of the parents.
