No doubt most of you will have noticed that the work has started on the cricket facility on the area near to the back gate. The back gate will remain out of use for the duration of the work and the school has coned off part of the playground as well to ensure all health and safety requirements are met. As far as I know, the work is on schedule to be completed within a three week window, but of course this current weather cannot really be helping the contractors. Thank you again for your patience while this work takes place.
Haiti Appeal
Thank you for supporting our “blue and red” non uniform day in aid of the Haiti Appeal. The school has raised £784.17 so far from the non uniform day and from proceeds from the book shop.
Fotek (School Photographers) – Wednesday 3rd March
A reminder that the School Photographer will be in school on Wednesday 3rd March. All children will have their photographs taken, both individually, in family groups and in classes. There is no obligation for parents to purchase any of the photographs. They will be sent home so that you can decide whether you wish to purchase all, purchase part or return all.
Parents who would like their children photographed with younger children not at Greenway need to come to the school at 8.30am when these family groups will be taken.
World Book Day – Thursday 4th March
To celebrate World Book Day we will be taking Alice in Wonderland as our theme. Children can come to school on Thursday 4th March dressed as a character of their choice from the book.
Health and Safety/Parking
We are pleased to see that repairs are underway to the road outside school. However, we have received reports of parents parking on the zig zag lines. Please could I ask parents to pay particular attention to safe and appropriate parking at the front of the school. The zig zag lines should be kept clear at all times.
Creative Day – Carnival Theme, Wednesday 24th March
A reminder that a Creative Day with a Carnival Theme will take place on Wednesday 24th March. If any parents would like to come in to support this activity please complete the slip overleaf indicating the time when you will be available to join us.
Parent/Teacher Consultations
Please see below for the remaining parent/teacher consultation dates for the second half of the spring term. If you wish to meet with one of your child’s teachers, please send a note in and the teacher will make an appointment for you. If the parent/teacher consultation dates are not convenient for you then teachers are available to meet at other mutually convenient times.
