This was clear recognition of the skilled teachers and support staff
who have nurtured, developed and extended trainee teachers over
a great number of years. The school received extra funding which enabled
it to improve the general level of resources.
One of the most exciting aspects of the resourcing has been the installation
of video-conferencing facilities. The school is
able to interact more effectively with other schools and educational
establishments both home and abroad.
Teachers and trainees alike are able to video their own lessons and reflect
on areas of strength and areas for development.
In 2007 Primary Training Schools ceased to exist and we accepted the government's offer of Associate Training School Status. The funding scheme for this position is currently given on an ad hoc basis for specific work e.g. research project.
A great achievement for the school and a tribute to the quality
of the teaching staff.
