Friday June 23rd
Wake those sleepy heads for an 8:00 breakfast. It is then time to finish packing (or start if you are Mr A.!) and vacate the rooms. A final room inspection is made to check that the rooms are left in an acceptable state. Time for some group photographs outside before boarding the coaches for a 9:40 start to Caen.
We arrive in good time and take the opportunity to visit the shop before lunching under the shade of the trees outside.We then started the visit of the memorial de Caen. The children behaved very well and indeed have all week. We concluded the tour by watching a half hour cinema presentation on D Day and the Battle for Normandy.
We leave the museum at 3:30 and then start our 3 hour drive back up towards Calais.
We stopped at 7:00 pm at Boulogne for some traditional French snack food (chips from McDonalds). We arrived at the tunnel in good time for our 9:08 pm crossing.
The remainder of our packed lunch was consumed as we travelled through the tunnel. A good drive back to Greenway, arriving back at 10:15 pm.
All home safe and well - Mr A signing off.
