French Trip 2005

France 2005 Home

Friday June 24th

The final day. After waking many of the children for breakfast we then packed our bags and vacated our rooms. This was combined with a final room inspection of which many rooms scored a 10/10. One of the boy's rooms was given an 11/10. The room was impeccable and the boys bribed the judges (Messrs. Todd and Ayling) with sweets, a rhyme and a refreshing drink to wash it all down with. Mrs Simons who inspected the girl's rooms was not open to any corruptive nature!

A final look at the diaries in the classroom and a challenge to name all of the twenty flags outside the centre and we left the centre at 10:30am. We then drove for an hour until Caen where we then stopped for a packed lunch before going into the Le Memorial De Caen. The children behaved very well and absorbed a lot of information from the museum.

Back on the road at 3:30pm and a drive up to the Baie de Somme services for some chips and a break. We then had  a tunnel crossing time of 9:08 booked. We made the crossing time fine and this was then followed by our only encounter with rain for the entire trip - exciting the train in Ashford! We made Greenway by 10:15pm.

Filling out the daily diary was an important task for the children.
Filling out the flag challenge and relaxing before the final stage of the trip.
Going into the memorial in Caen.
As the week progressed we were presented with these pictures quite frequently!
