After setting off from
Greenway and taking the coaches through the tunnel, we traveled
down through France stopping for lunch on the way.
The motorway services
are very different in France and the particular one we stopped at
was delightful.
A further drive then to
Bayeux where we stopped to view the tapestry and enjoy an ice cream.
The final drive took us
to Granville and the sailing centre.
After lunch at the services.
At the services there is a viewing tower which you can climb. The
views are well worth it as can be seen here.
The children are entering
the tapestry building.
Apparently the tapestry
shows some famous battle between the French and the English. It
ended with 'one in the eye' for the English - a bit like Sunday
night?!
Enjoying an ice cream in Bayeux and soaking up the culture.
Most children have a
view something like this from their bedroom!
This the bay where the
sailing takes place. there is alos a small beach. However a short
walk away is the most fantastic beach where we go in the evenings
for rounders, rock pooling and relaxing.
Monday evening.
All the children are safe
and well and sitting outside the Sailing Centre.
