French Trip 2003

Tuesday June 10th

Today was spent visiting our French schools and pen pals. Mrs Voss' and Miss Wright's classes went down the coast to a school outside Granville. Mr Charman's class went to a school in Granville. Unfortunately Mr Greenfield's school was on industrial action and was therefore closed. Instead they visited the same school as Mr Charman's class.

After a picnic lunch both groups participated in some sporting activities with their French friends. Mr Greenfield and Mr Charman showed the French rounders and cricket.

A while in the late afternoon was spent at the centre. Children worked in their diaries, tidied their rooms (yes really!) and relaxed outside in the warm summer sun (hats and cream obviously).

After dinner we strolled through the old town to the sandy beach and played rounders, tag rugby or a sandcastle comptetition. There was also a chill out zone where Mr Ayling chilled out!

The children were a real credit today on their visits to the schools. we should all be proud.

Tomorrow we sail.....

On the ramparts above Granville on a short sightseeing visit.

Greenway children watching a game of handball. This game is widespread on the continent but rarely seen in the UK.
